My name is Stuart Gustafson, and I currently live in California. In fact, this is my fifth time to live in California. I was born in California while my Dad was in the U.S. Navy (#1). We moved as a family to Texas when I was four years old. Then it was back to California two years later (#2) for a short stint before we took a military transport ship out to Guam. That was a great experience as a youngster. Two years later, the Navy moved us back to California (#3), where I lived until graduating from high school. I then moved out of state for collegiate studies, which then had me move back to California (#4) four plus years later. I moved to Idaho (with wife and family) twenty-plus years later to take a job, from which I was offered an early retirement package after fourteen years. Sadly, my wife then developed symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease, eventually passing away in 2022. Three years later, I moved — for what I hope is my final move — back to California (#5).
None of that really has anything to do with cooking. What is relevant is that I have published 15 books (none about cooking, though), and so I am comfortable with writing and creating interesting content that I hope you enjoy. As you will see in other images, I do not have this gigantic professional kitchen with a six-burner gas stove, along with top-end cookware (although I am working on that) plus a staff to help me prep and then clean up after me. As you can see in the photo above, my cooking at home is on a glass flat-top electric stove. I am happy enough with the results; I think you would be also if you ever join me for dinner.
